Easy to remember

I have been called to be free. The old plan is gone!! The new plan is easy to remember.

Here it is. LOVE!! That is it. Love God. Love everyone else.

The challenge is to not fall back to the old agreement and to walk by the power of His Spirit.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. … For the entire old agreement is fulfilled in keeping this one rule: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ …. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of  my inclination to miss God’s goal for me. Galatians 5:13-16

When does He get tired?

Some days I get home and I am really tired. My energy is gone. Not much left.

I have to be careful not to project my humanity on Him. He is God. He has always been. He created everything. He will never, ever grow tired. I can’t understand that but I know it to be true.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28

Left behind

God has abandonded the old plan. He has completely left it behind. He did it in Jesus our Master. So, what is the essence of the new plan, His agreement with me? It is that I will know Him. I won’t have to teach my friends how to do it. I have a relationship with Him through Jesus. We will all know Him. He doesn’t remember what I was like before. I am absolutely forgiven the debt that couldn’t be paid before anyway.

It is in my heart to do so. It is in my mind all the time. That is it!!

‘This is the new plan…. ,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will put my way in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their friends, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,’ declares the LORD. ‘For I will forgive their wandering heart and will remember their missing the mark no more.’ Jeremiah 31:31-34

Did Jesus keep His promise?

February 6, 2010 at 7:03 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

We are at war. The prize is my heart. Jesus kept His promise. He healed my heart.

Of course your heart would be the object of a great and fierce battle. It is your most precious possession. Without your heart you cannot have God. Without your heart you cannot have love. Without your heart you cannot have faith. Without your heart you cannot find the work you were meant to do. In other words, without your heart you cannot have life. The question is, Did Jesus keep his promise? What has he done for our hearts? ~~John Eldredge

How will I decide?

February 6, 2010 at 6:14 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

I have a decision to make. I get to make it every day. Is it a bad thing to worship God? I can worship something else.  I can worship someone else. Now would be the time to choose.

I also get to choose for my family as well.

I choose to worship God. Me and my family.

“If you decide that it’s a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you’d rather serve—and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you’re now living. As for me and my family, we’ll worship God.” ~~Joshua 24:15

I believe in love because of God’s love. His gift to me is overwhelming. I didn’t deserve it but He gave it to me anyway.

From the moment He came into my life, it has never been the same.

The war of truth

February 5, 2010 at 1:43 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Here is some great truth from Bill Johnson. It truly is a war over truth. You can find more at www.bjm.org. Check it out.

Most of us are acutely aware that we live in a world at war. But the war is not over power, land or money, or even good and evil. It is over something even more basic. The war is over truth, and the battlefield is the mind of every person. This war began in heaven, when Satan was cast down, but we were implicated in it by Adam and Eve–not merely when they ate the forbidden fruit, but when they decided to trust in a lie over God’s truth. Eating the fruit was merely evidence that they had believed the enemy’s lie. When you believe a lie, you empower the liar – agreeing with the devil empowers him. This becomes his license to kill, steal, and destroy. When Adam and Eve did so they denied God’s truth, which amounted to cutting off the branch on which there were sitting. Adam and Eve literally fell, but it happened when they decided to abandon God’s perspective for a distortion.

Romans 1:18-21 describes the fall of man explicitly as a fall from the truth:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Paul says that the reality of God’s eternal power and nature are “clearly seen” in the visible realm. That phrase literally means “seen from above.” When Adam and Eve fell, they fell from God’s perspective on reality. Before they “suppressed the truth”, they had unbroken access to the truth of God’s nature and His intentions for history. Paul also says that “what may be known of God [was] manifest in them.” This implies that, because they were made in the image of God, they could look at each other and see what God was like. But when they suppressed the truth of who God was, their own image was distorted, separating them from their identity and purpose. From this point on, the human race inherited a distorted perspective on reality and history.

Now that the breach of sin has been healed by the Cross, we as believers must allow the testimonies of God to teach us the truth that was lost to Adam and Eve–both His plan for history, and our identity and role in His-story. God’s plan for mankind has never changed, because He has not changed.

What is the emphasis?

So God had an old plan before the new one. It was the plan based on following lots of rules (laws). The old plan was pointing to the new way all along the way. It couldn’t complete anyone who followed it. Even then, He had friends, that based on their heart, pointed to the new plan as well.

Much of our “religion” and current “christianity” is actually based on the old plan. What is the clue? Is the emphasis on the rules of our Father or the relationship with our Father? The new plan is “Rules” 0 — “Relationship” 10. Game over!!!

May I be complete based on His new plan. So be it.

The Center of God’s Love

The mission is to keep myself in a faith that is set apart for Him. That is the real deal. That is what the end game is for me. It is a building process. I am not there for sure. But I am making progress. He has a goal where I need to be. He has a strategy for how I will get there. He “whacks” away at it every second of every day. So, bring it on my Master.

There is a coming together of the physical, the soul (heart) and spiritual. So I start with a physical act. Let’s say I raise my hands being open and outstretched to Him. I begin to experience His love being poured out on me. Then the presence of His Spirit invades the scene. Watch out then!! This all leads to love. It leads to experiencing His gift of mercy. Not justice. Just mercy.

What is the real outcome? What is this all about? A life that is unending. A life that is real.

But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21
